As an independent living community, Atlantic Shores focuses on wellness – ranging from on-site flu shots and blood pressure checks in our Wellness Center … to classes in the fitness center … to organized walking groups on our extensive network of walking paths.  Plus, there’s peace of mind knowing additional health care services are available on site if ever needed.  Importantly, residents only pay for these health care services if used.

The following is a list of health and wellness services offered on site at Atlantic Shores:

• Fitness center offering a full range of fitness and wellness programs.
• Indoor, heated swimming pool with spa for aqua aerobics classes and swimming laps.
• Multiple-restaurant dining program offers a wide variety of delicious and healthy menu selections.
• Emergency telephone response system in each villa and apartment home for prompt assistance in the event of an emergency.
• Outpatient services such as blood pressure checks performed by our Wellness Center nursing staff without additional charge.  Specialty services are also available on a fee-for-service basis.
• Assistance in living program providing the opportunity to maintain independence within your own apartment home or villa.  Available as often as desired on a fee-for-service basis.
• Home health care available in the comfort and convenience of your home during a brief illness or recovery period.  Meals delivered to your residence on a temporary basis, as advised by your physician.
• Newly expanded Harbourway assisted living residence featuring a choice of four floor plans:  alcove, one-bedroom, one-bedroom deluxe and two-bedroom/two-bath.

• Seaside Health Center, a fully licensed Medicare facility, offering short-term recuperative care, rehabilitative therapy and long-term, skilled nursing care.

The Wellness Center at Atlantic Shores is staffed by three nurse practitioners, a licensed practical nurse and a medical assistant.  A licensed, professional, registered nurse practitioner has advanced education and clinical training in a health care specialty area.  They are able to work in collaboration with a personal physician or may serve as a primary health care provider if desired.
